When the regulatory agencies saw a need to convert to a safer connection system for leadwires, there were significant numbers of medical diagnostic and treatment equipment with 2mm jacks in the field that were still useful. With the use of a specially designed adapter and an adhesive pad, a permanent change to those units could be made allowing them to use the new 1.5mm Touchproof safety connectors. In some instances, there were 2mm exposed pin leadwires that were still being utilized, so a different pin configuration was created to allow the obsolete style to be used with the new compliant equipment. Available in various pin lengths, there should be a fit for any standard 2.0mm single pin jack.
