Slide Products’ introduces new KLENZ purging compound

New advances chemistry and technology improve purge effectiveness,
shorten ROI, and reduce costs

Wheeling, IL —Slide Products introduces a significant advance in purging technology. KLENZ purging compound, a chemically reactive purge that is safe to purge through the mold, is excellent for use through hot runner systems.

KLENZ helps eliminate color streaking and black specs caused by stubborn residues baked onto the screw, and dramatically shortens purge times. It uses a polyolefin carrier resin, is odorless, and GRAS rated safe for food packaging applications. KLENZ has operating temperatures of 330º - 610ºF. Molders can dramatically reduce time and purging costs by using KLENZ as part of their regular resin-to-resin, color-to-color change-over procedure.

"The first time a molder used KLENZ the results were dramatic," explains Michael Muth, president of Slide Products. "It actually took slightly longer to purge the first time as we saw old, baked on resinous crud being removed from the screw and barrel. There was no odor and you could easily tell when the purge was successful….resin came out clear and clean."

"The next purge was even faster since the first purge had cleared all the old, baked-on resin," he continues. "It took only minutes to change from the old resin and see clean, clear resin indicating a complete purge."

KLENZ purging compound is for use with injection molding, extrusion and blow molding.

temperature insulation, sound attenuation, vibration damping, and shock absorption.
However, when foam products fail, it may not be because of a deficiency of the foam
material, but because of problems with the adhesive system. All too frequently,
adhesives do not stand up to the rigors of the end use application, or they break down
during transport and storage, prior to the foam component being finally affixed.
Inadequate adhesive systems also cause problems during the fabrication and conversion
of foam products, resulting in product damage and waste, and in disruptions of the
manufacturing process.
