Aluminum is fast emerging as the preeminent material in the injection molding plastics industry. The benefits of using aluminum tooling as opposed to steel tooling in the process of fashioning molded plastic parts are numerous. However, there are some distinct drawbacks that one must take into account before deciding which metal to select for a particular project. The most effective way to make this critical decision is to use various methods of computer simulation. Simulation allows a firm to examine the myriad of unique factors surrounding a specific project, and how they affect the decision of which type of metal to use.

Learn which types of programs are best for which types of projects, and how the engineers at SimuTech can help you decide which simulation programs best fit the specifications of your firm’s projects.

It’s a simple fact. Qualified sales leads are the lifeblood of any sales organization. So why are so many leads ignored or underutilized?

In this paper we will make the case for three possible changes in your thinking:

• Sales and marketing organizations are better served by spending marginally less on lead generation and more on the process of lead management.

• All sales leads are not created equal — identifying “sales-ready” leads is a critical step in the lead generation and management process.

• Leads that are not sales-ready today can be nurtured and cultivated to be sales-ready in the future.

Slide Products’ introduces new Purge-Atory purging compound

New heavy-duty, chemically-reactive purge is ideal for use with gas
emitting resins such as Delrin and Acetal

Wheeling, IL —Slide Products introduces a significant advance in purging technology. Aptly named Purge-Atory, this new chemically reactive purging compound thoroughly removes old resin and residue, sending it straight to "purgatory" never to be seen again. Purge-Atory is safe to purge through the mold, and is recommended for use with gas emitting resins such as Delrin & Acetal.

Purge-Atory, a heavy-duty purging compound, helps eliminate color streaking and black specs caused by stubborn residues baked onto the screw, and dramatically shortens purge times. It uses a SAN carrier resin, is also safe to purge through the mold and helps eliminate color streaking and black specks Purge-Atory uses a SAN resin carrier and is GRAS rated, safe for food packaging applications. Purge-Atory has operating temperatures of 370º - 610ºF.

Purge-Atory requires no mixing or preparation time and is recommended for injection, extrusion and blow molding.

When you watch Purge-Atory at work, you see previously untouched, baked-on residue being removed, and in moments, clean, clear resin. There is surprisingly no odor at all for something that is so powerful.

"Molders who have run side-by-side purging trials have seen old resin removed pretty quickly and it took less time than previous procedures for resin changes," comments Michael Muth, president of Slide Products.

Founded in 1953, Slide Products, Inc., an environmentally conscious manufacturer, makes mold releases, cleaners, rust preventives and more.

Foam materials made from rubber and plastics are a ubiquitous part of modern life,
serving as indispensable components in everything from advanced medical and aerospace
applications to everyday consumer items. A wide variety of foam materials have been
developed that effectively and reliably serve many different functions, including sealing,
temperature insulation, sound attenuation, vibration damping, and shock absorption.
However, when foam products fail, it may not be because of a deficiency of the foam
material, but because of problems with the adhesive system. All too frequently,
adhesives do not stand up to the rigors of the end use application, or they break down
during transport and storage, prior to the foam component being finally affixed.
Inadequate adhesive systems also cause problems during the fabrication and conversion
of foam products, resulting in product damage and waste, and in disruptions of the
manufacturing process.
