American Excelsior has developed an environmentally friendly polyurethane called Earth Cell that is a flexible bio-based foam and an alternative to petroleum based polyurethane foams. It is made of renewable-based bio-polyols derived from vegetables. Earth Cell is a green, earth-friendly polyurethane that helps reduce dependency on fossil fuels, reduce energy demand, and help create a smaller environmental footprint.
Earth Cell green foam provides earth friendly products whose performance characteristics are superior to other foams due to improved "cell" integrity. Our customers get the performance they expect on their finished product, but without adding cost. This is a value beyond being green. Because our line of Earth-Cell foams include most fabricated foams as well as our entire line of molded processed foams, we offer a variety of molded eco-friendly polyurethane foams for use in medical, commercial furniture and many other applications where seating or comfort is required. It means we also have eco-friendly foams that are ideal for protection. This allows us to incorporate bio-renewable polyols in the manufacturing of our product.
The use of Earth Cell foam in numerous products is making a noticeable impact on our environment. For every one million pounds of petroleum-based polyols replaced by bio-based polyols, 2,200 barrels of crude oil are saved. In addition, the use of soy and other renewable products helps the American farmer.
