PVC Compounding - Bottom-Up Method
Horizon Systems has a long history of designing and building material handling systems for the chemical and plastic industries. When considering what type of system to build for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounding, it’s often the configuration of the existing building or overall cost of a new building that determines the appropriate blend system configuration.
The bottom-up design, as shown below, allows for a lower head height by housing more equipment at ground level. Bulk Bag Unloaders, hoppers and feeders housed close to the floor are easier to service. In this configuration, scales are customized to match the flow behavior of specific materials.
When designing your blend system, you have access to many unloading equipment options, from Bulk Bag Dischargers that handle 2000 lb. super sacks, small bag dumps that handle up to 50 lb. bags or hand add hoppers for the possible addition of micro weighments.
