Product Overview
Fatty Amides & Bisamides
PMC Biogenix is the pioneer in the development and manufacture of fatty amides worldwide. Our proprietary technology has expanded over 50 years to give us today’s leading market position. Our Kemamide® and Armoslip® fatty amide products provide a broad selection of plastics additives, wax additives and lubricants to a wide range of applications.
Primary amides find their primary applications in polyolefins as slip and anti-block agents but are also useful in other polymers such as rigid polyvinyl chloride as an external lubricant, vinyl plastisol cap liners to reduce the torque required for cap removal and coatings as a slip and anti-mar additive.
Secondary amides are primarily used in applications where superior temperature stability is required. Applications include mold flow improvement in nylon and lubrication in acrylics and polycarbonates. These products may be specifically tailored for specialty applications that require high lubricity and good thermal stability. Secondary amides may also be used in non-polymer applications, where a higher performance wax replacement is needed for demanding applications.
Fatty bisamides are used as lubricants in polymer applications, powder coatings, defoamers and flow modifiers in asphalt applications. We can modify the chemical properties to impart variations in chain length, acid value and total amine value. Modification of these parameters can improve performance in a variety of applications.
