Penn Compression Moulding, founded in 1970, is a full-service custom molder of thermoset plastics with manufacturing facilities in Smithfield, North Carolina (near Raleigh) and Irwin, PA (near Pittsburgh). Penn is privately owned and has its headquarters in the Smithfield, North Carolina. Penn molds a wide range of thermoset materials including BMC, SMC, TMC, phenolic, melamine and urea. We have over 60 compression, transfer and injection molding machines ranging from 75 tons to 650 tons and over 120 employees. Both plants are UL certified. Penn supplies a variety of industries including electrical/electronic, power tools, transportation, lighting, material handling, communications, defense, mass transit, appliance and more. Customers include GE, Black & Decker, Eaton Electric (Cutler-Hammer), ABB, and Siemens.
