Exeter, Ontario UNICOR GmbH a leading manufacturer of corrugated pipe technology located in Hassfurt Germany has acquired majority ownership of Adescor Inc. located in Exeter, Ontario. ADESCOR develops, builds and distributes downstream equipment for the production of corrugated pipes, e. g. saws, cutters, bell inline trimmers and numerous other pieces of equipment used in pipe extrusion plants. ADESCOR'S key market has been North America.
UNICOR and ADESCOR have worked together successfully on the North American market for a long time, with numerous projects where both companies equipment was being used. Tony Kime, former representative of UNICOR and on going shareholder of ADESCOR, will run the business of ADESCOR as President. The previous President, Bill Kime, will retire, but be available as consultant for the company.
UNICOR extends its position and market proximity with its North American customers by purchasing ADESCOR, and plans to offer service and support with a North American base.
UNICOR's Managing Director Klaus Kaufmann states: "We are really pleased that we purchased an experienced company like ADESCOR, with which we are able to strengthen our position on the North American Market with the products and service which meet the demands of the local markets. As of now, we will add the ADESCOR-program to the UNICOR range of products and offer them worldwide. ADESCOR has proven its downstream equipment is competitive on the world market as they already supply a number of European pipe producers, and supply the leading corrugated pipe companies in North America."
At the K-Show in October in Düsseldorf, UNICOR will present the efficient product range of ADESCOR at its exhibition stand D59 in hall 16!
In October of 2012 UNICOR announced the GAW group of Graz Austria had taken over majority control of the company. The purchase of ADESCOR by UNICOR demonstrates the commitment GAW has to support the growth of their machinery manufacturing and engineering businesses worldwide.
