Starlinger: recycling line for bulky materials
Available from American Starlinger-Sahm, Inc.
The recoSTAR universal is a recycling machine designed for processing plastics such as PE, PP, PS, PES, PET, PPS, or PLA. The line is equipped with a high-performance ACTIVE shredder, which makes it the machine of choice for bulky and hard-to-grind materials.
Typical applications are:
• solid lumps and start-up scrap
• injection molding parts
• fibers and filaments
• plastic tapes and fabrics
• packaging films
Depending on the material to be recycled, Starlinger recycling technology offers a range of options for degassing (e.g., high-vacuum or cascade degassing), filtration (e.g., backflush, power backflush, or continuous filtration), and pelletizing (waterring pelletizer, underwater pelletizer, or strand pelletizer). With the right setup, the recoSTAR universal is well prepared also for highly printed, humid and/or hygroscopic materials.
Additional assets are:
• the rECO concept that reduces the carbon footprint of the recycling line as well as the operating costs through lowering the energy consumption of the recycling line by approx. 10%
• the possibility to produce an in-house masterbatch for the upcycling of production scrap by means of compounding.
The recoSTAR universal series comes in six machine sizes which cover an output range of 330 – 2,865 lbs per hour.
